The campaign is resourced by a specially-created company called Eastbourne Excellence CIC, Community Interest Company No 8124335, managed by a Board of Directors appointed by its Members. Both Members and Directors are drawn from the business community of Eastbourne and its catchment area. All Subscribers will become Members automatically.

As a CIC an annual report is required by the Regulator, confirming that activity relevant to the approved CI Statement has been undertaken. The latter states:

“The Mission of the company is to encourage local businesses to develop their premises, products and services to met the needs of the less physically able,using the principles of Inclusive Design and category-oriented training. A Code of Practice will commit participating businesses to certain behavioursin return for which they will obtain competitive advantages which will be promoted for their benefit. The company envisages undertaking research into the needs of the local elderly population, developing and promulgating Codes of Practice and running training modules and workshops for local businesses to promote the principles of Inclusive Design.”

The directors are responsible to the Members for delivering agreed objectives. Officers will be appointed by the directors.

Eastbourne Excellence CIC is mindful of its responsibility to its volunteers, stakeholders and the community and is develping policies appropriate to its responsibilities.
